Woodbadgers Gathering


Adult Leaders attended the Woodbadgers Gathering yesterday (23 January) in the Bangabandhu Main Arena, National Scout Training Centre, Mouchak, Gazipur.

Wood Badge courses aim to make Adult Leaders better by teaching advanced leadership skills, and by creating a bond and commitment to the Scout movement. On completion of the course, participants are awarded the Wood Badge beads to recognize significant achievements in leadership and direct service to young people. The pair of small wooden beads, one on each end of a leather thong (string), is worn around the neck as part of the Scout uniform.

The welcome speech was delivered by the Director of the gathering Abu Zafar Sabbir Ahmed. National Commissioner (Training) of Bangladesh Scouts, Aminul Ehsan Khan Parvez was present as a Special Scout Personality. Mihir Kanti Majumder, former National Commissioner, Bangladesh Scouts, was present as the Chief Scout personality. The event was presided over by Md. Shah Alam, President, National Committee on Programs.
